Information You Provide

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you:

Information We Collect Automatically

When you use our services, we automatically collect certain information, including:

• Log Information: We collect log information about your use of our services, including your browser type, access times, pages viewed, and your IP address.
• Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access our services, including the hardware model, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
• Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your interactions with our services. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Local Bridge and PLC Code

PLC Assist connects to CODESYS on your local machine through a bridge script running at localhost. Your PLC project code is processed locally on your machine. We do not have access to your local CODESYS projects, PLC programs, or controller data unless you explicitly share code through our AI chat features.

When you use the AI assistant, code snippets you include in chat messages are sent to our servers and processed by third-party AI providers (such as Anthropic) to generate responses. This code is transmitted securely and handled according to this policy.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve PLC Assist
• Process transactions and send related information
• Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
• Respond to your comments, questions, and requests
• Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities
• Personalize and improve your experience

AI Features and Data Collection

PLC Assist includes AI-powered features that help you with PLC programming tasks.

AI Interaction Data

When you use our AI features, we may collect:

• Conversation history: The messages you send to and receive from our AI assistant, stored securely to enable multi-session conversations
• Usage patterns: How you interact with AI features (frequency, types of requests) to improve the service
• Feedback data: If you opt-in, thumbs up/down ratings and comments you provide on AI responses

Third-Party AI Providers

We use third-party AI providers to power our AI features. When you send messages to the AI assistant, your input (including any code snippets you share) is processed by these providers. These providers are contractually bound not to use your data for training their models.

AI Improvement Consent

With your explicit consent, we may use your AI interaction feedback to:

• Identify common issues with AI responses
• Improve the quality and accuracy of AI outputs
• Develop better prompts and training approaches
• Enhance the overall AI experience for all users

This is opt-in only. You can enable or disable AI Improvement consent at any time in Settings > Privacy.

What We Don't Do

• We never sell your AI interaction data to third parties
• We don't use your conversations to train models without explicit consent
• We don't share identifiable conversation content with external parties
• AI feedback is anonymized before any aggregate analysis

Information Sharing

We may share information about you as follows:

• With Service Providers: We share information with third-party vendors who provide services on our behalf, including payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (Resend), authentication services, and AI providers (Anthropic).
• For Legal Reasons: We may share information if we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable laws or legal processes.
• With Your Consent: We may share information with your consent or at your direction.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Conversation history is retained for the duration of your account unless you request deletion.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:

• The right to access your personal information
• The right to correct inaccurate information
• The right to delete your personal information
• The right to object to processing
• The right to data portability
• The right to withdraw consent at any time

Privacy Controls

You have control over your data collection preferences. In your account settings under Settings > Privacy, you can:

• Usage Analytics: Enable or disable collection of usage patterns
• AI Improvement: Choose whether your AI feedback helps improve the service
• Data Sharing: Control whether anonymized data can be used for research

Changes to these settings take effect immediately. Disabling a consent option will prevent future data collection but does not automatically delete previously collected data. To request deletion of existing data, please contact us.

International Data Transfers

If you are located outside the Netherlands, your information may be transferred to and processed in the Netherlands or other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

Security

We take reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. All data is transmitted using TLS encryption.
